You will learn how emotions are an
internal compass guiding all actions, so decoding them is key to
emotional wisdom, creative breakthroughs, and fruitful actions.
You will learn new perspectives and proven processes for making
positive changes in how you relate with yourself and others. Emotional
Intelligence (EI) is a type of intelligence used to conduct all
the nuances of human relationships. High ratings of this kind of
intelligence have been scientifically linked with higher levels
of life satisfaction, and more productive, longer lives. Unlike
Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EIQ)
can be improved.
This program is divided into
3 parts. Each part consist of 10 classes spread over a 3 month period
with time off for holidays and time to digest the material. Each
teleclass lasts 90 minutes. Though each part stands alone, BEST
DAYS recommends taking all 3 parts to assure the behavioral and
emotional changes that significantly increase Emotional Intelligence
Quotient (EIQ). Each part in this program is built around understanding
and increasing core capacities, i.e. the healthy balance of emotions
and mind sets that drive constructive behavior, and, identifying
and practicing competencies and skills that increase EIQ.
Increasing your EIQ will help
you:
- Respond instead of react (response-ability!)
- Identify emotional states of self and others
- Deal effectively with difficult personalities
- Communicate respectfully and set boundaries with
adults and children
- Increase open communication and intimacy
Each part of the program utilizes
modern technologies such as teleconferencing and the Internet, so
you can participate from virtually anywhere.
“It is very important
to understand that emotional intelligence is not the opposite
of intelligence, it is not the triumph of heart over head—it
is the unique intersection of both.’’ —David
Caruso

Part I includes the EIQ In Action
Profile and Assessment. EIQ In Action Profile is unlike any Emotional
Intelligence Quotient assessment tool on the market. The other tools
available measure behaviors occurring in relationships, emotional
competencies and skills. This tool measure emotional core capacities,
so the emotional drivers and the mindset behind behavior is actually
measured. Behavior is difficult to change when that which drives
it remains below the level of conscious awareness. Life Coach Gretchen
is certified to administer the profile and provide interpretive
consultation of the results.
You will explore various patterns
that show up in the EIQ In Action Profile to apply to your own profile.
Life Coach Gretchen also offers you a 20 minute individual coaching
session to answer questions about your own profile. Then, you will
explore the elements of the profile and ways to improve each element.
At the end of this part, you will have a deep understanding of what
motivates your behavior--behavior that may have baffled you. You
will initiate proven practices that begin to remold emotional patterns
of reactivity into choice based responsiveness.
Participants cannot
take Part One without taking the Profile. However, a client
may take the Profile without the class. Please see right side for
information on taking the EIQ profile as an individual.

Effective communication starts with
several emotional skills that help you separate yourself from others.
These skills include: naming your feelings in the moment, effectively
describing the behavior of others, separating your judgments and
thoughts from behavioral descriptions, identifying a continuum of
wants and desires, owning hooks from the past (or “how did
my family of origin sneak into this conversation?), owning your
projections, and, giving and receiving critical feedback in the
midst of conflict in ways that can be heard. At the end of this
class, you will be astounded to experience how effective communication
clarifies what is actually going on and improves outcomes.
